The Senior Owners Engineer Site Representative will serve as Zutaris permanent full-time on-site presence during an IPP/EPC construction project. The role is a fixed term contract and the incumbent will ensure cohesive delivery of works in alignment with the Employers Requirements IFC designs and EPC contract conditions. The incumbent will protect the Employers interests through independent expert oversight of contractor performance quality schedule and early identification of risks and defects.
Role responsibilities
- Monitor and report on EPC contractor civil mechanical and electrical works throughout the construction period with support of discipline teams
- Verify compliance with IFC designs EPC contract requirements and good engineering practice
- Review contractor Risk Assessments Method Statements and Inspection and Test Plans
- Identify and escalate defects non-conformances and quality risks timeously
- Monitor contractor progress against the approved project schedule and provide early warnings of deviations
- Evaluate contractor claims variations and technical queries in collaboration with the OE Project Manager
- Attend project meetings and report on contractor site management and performance
- Liaise with the client contractor and Zutari back-office specialists throughout the project
- Monitor contractor compliance with applicable Health Safety and Environmental requirements
Minimum requirements
- Qualification: ND BTech BEng or equivalent in Engineering Quantity Surveying or Project Management
- Preferred Discipline: Electrical Engineering advantageous
- Experience: 8 to 12 years of relevant engineering experience with at least 5 years in a site-based role
- EPC Contract and Renewable Energy experience highly beneficial
Competencies
- Strong knowledge of EPC or NEC/FIDIC contract administration
- Proficient in technical report writing and professional correspondence
- Ability to review and interpret IFC drawings and engineering specifications
- Experience in QA/QC systems ITP review and non-conformance management
- Proactive detail-oriented and able to work independently in a demanding site environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
- The role is fully site-based. On-site office space access and general amenities will be provided. The incumbent will be supported throughout by Zutaris back-office and one site specialist team.
