Job Summary
A leading marine manufacturer is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Technician to join its engineering team. This role is responsible for the installation testing commissioning and fault-finding of marine electrical systems while providing technical support to production and driving quality and continuous improvement across vessel builds.
Job Description
- Provide technical support during the installation testing and commissioning of marine electrical systems
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and electronic faults on vessels
- Configure test and commission electrical and electronic equipment
- Support production teams with technical troubleshooting and process improvements
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and assist with engineering changes
- Conduct electrical testing and quality inspections
- Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior technicians and promote strong engineering and quality standards
- 5 years experience in a marine manufacturing or marine engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems installation and commissioning
- Proven electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Experience with electrical testing commissioning and quality control
- Exposure to PLCs marine electronics and digital control systems will be advantageous
- Strong communication problem-solving and leadership skills
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work closely with production teams
- Red Seal Electrician or Mechatronics qualification
- Valid drivers licence and own reliable transport
