Senior Ecommerce Engineer

Our client is seeking a senior Ecommerce Engineer to take ownership of their ecommerce technology landscape and provide both technical leadership and strategic direction. This role is focused on driving ecommerce growth through scalable architecture system integrations and optimization of digital platforms while also contributing to broader business strategy.

Responsibilities:
Lead ecommerce platform development and technical strategy across the organization
Drive improvements in scalability performance security and reliability of ecommerce systems
Manage WooCommerce-based platforms and associated digital infrastructure
Develop and maintain backend services and integrations using or PHP
Oversee API integrations with ERP CRM inventory and payment systems
Implement SEO and performance optimization strategies to improve traffic and conversion
Manage deployment pipelines environments and release processes
Ensure data integrity across product catalogues and digital systems
Collaborate with business stakeholders to align ecommerce strategy with revenue goals

Requirements:
BSc Degree in IT Computer Science Software Engineering or related field (non-negotiable)
Senior-level experience in ecommerce engineering or digital commerce environments
Strong expertise in WooCommerce and ecommerce platform architecture
Backend development experience ( PHP or Python)
Strong knowledge of frontend technologies (HTML CSS JavaScript Vue/React/Angular)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP)
Strong understanding of API design system integrations and databases
Experience with technical SEO and optimization strategies
