Job Summary
Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in industrial refrigeration system design This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven professional to take ownership of complex engineering designs optimize system performance and contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale refrigeration projects. The ideal candidate will enjoy solving technical challenges engaging with clients and mentoring junior team members within a dynamic engineering environment.
Job Description:
- Design and develop industrial refrigeration systems in accordance with industry standards and client requirements
- Conduct site assessments and evaluate existing installations to identify performance improvement opportunities
- Perform heat load calculations and complete detailed system designs
- Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation
- Manage supplier engagement and obtain quotations for capital equipment
- Participate in tender and bid processes from initial assessment through submission
- Develop designs with a focus on safety energy efficiency performance and cost optimization
- Provide technical support to project teams throughout project execution
- Attend client and consultant meetings and provide expert engineering recommendations
- Perform system audits and compile technical reports
- Support and mentor junior engineers and designers
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and remain informed on new technologies and industry developments
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in industrial refrigeration system design
- Proven experience producing complete refrigeration system designs from concept through implementation
- Strong understanding of heat load calculations equipment selection and system integration
- Experience preparing technical documentation project specifications and Bills of Materials
- Familiarity with tendering processes and engineering project documentation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients suppliers and project teams
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects within a deadline-driven environment
- Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D will be advantageous
Qualification:
- BTech or BEng in Mechanical Engineering
- SAQCC Designer Category C certification is essential
