Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Scientist to join a dynamic team based in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced analytics machine learning cloud-based data platforms and business intelligence with a proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions that create measurable business value.

- 8 years experience in Data Science Advanced Analytics Machine Learning or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- AWS (S3 Redshift SageMaker Lambda Glue or related services)
- Snowflake
- Python
- SQL
- Power BI
- Machine Learning model development and deployment
- Experience building and deploying predictive classification clustering and forecasting models.
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts data pipelines and large-scale data processing.
- Proven experience working with structured and unstructured datasets.
- Experience translating complex business problems into practical analytical solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills.
Responsibilities
- Design develop and deploy machine learning models to solve complex business challenges.
- Build scalable data science solutions leveraging AWS and Snowflake platforms.
- Develop and maintain advanced analytics predictive models and forecasting solutions.
- Create impactful dashboards and visualisations using Power BI.
- Perform data exploration feature engineering model tuning and performance optimisation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering Product and Business stakeholders.
- Ensure best practices around model governance data quality and documentation.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the overall data strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Data Science Computer Science Statistics Mathematics Engineering or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification advantageous.
- AWS certifications highly beneficial.
- Experience with MLOps and model deployment frameworks advantageous.
- Exposure to AI Generative AI or NLP solutions would be beneficial.
