Duties & Responsibilities
Job Description
- Lead and execute control systems engineering activities across multiple automation projects.
- Design develop and implement PLC SCADA HMI and control system solutions.
- Perform PLC programming testing commissioning and system integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system instrumentation and communication network faults.
- Develop and review control philosophies functional design specifications and engineering documentation.
- Support plant upgrades modernization projects and operational improvements.
- Liaise directly with clients contractors and project stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Participate in site commissioning activities including local and international travel where required.
- BEng and BSc:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Mechatronic Engineering
- Automation Engineering
- Or related engineering disciplines
- Minimum 5 years experience in industrial automation control systems or process control engineering.
- Strong PLC programming and commissioning experience.
- Proven experience in SCADA and HMI development.
- Exposure to industrial manufacturing mining process plants or heavy engineering environments.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Valid drivers licence.
- Ability to travel for project work and commissioning assignments.
- Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Siemens S7 and TIA Portal Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley ABB Automation Systems Ignition SCADA WinCC
- Mining minerals processing or metallurgical environments
- Process plant automation projects
- Modular plant design and commissioning
- DCS migrations and integration
- Industrial networking and communication architectures
- Functional Safety or SIL-rated systems
- ECSA registration or progress towards professional registration
- Multi-platform PLC programming experience
