As our business has scaled across multiple entities and brands our day-to-day accounting needs have outgrown fractional bookkeeping support. We are hiring a dedicated in-house Senior Accountant to completely own the books across our corporate ecosystem run a clean and timely monthly close and produce reliable financial statements leadership can act on. You will work directly with the CEO and alongside our external CPA firm which handles annual income-tax filings.

The Senior Accountant owns the recurring full-cycle accounting function across our multiple legal entities. This is a highly hands-on remote role responsible for managing accounts payable/receivable handling multi-entity cash and merchant reconciliations tracking inventory/COGS and managing state-level sales tax compliance.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized autonomous operator who takes deep pride in absolute data accuracy and can deliver an enterprise-wide consolidated view without needing close supervision.

1. Day-to-Day Accounting & Ledger Integrity

• Accounts Payable (AP): Manage the end-to-end AP workflowincluding vendor bill ingestion internal department approvals and payment executionentirely inside .

• Accounts Receivable (AR): Oversee invoicing pipelines apply incoming payments accurately and systematically follow up on outstanding balances.

• General Ledger Maintenance: Manage the core general ledger and chart of accounts keeping all transactions accurately categorized within QuickBooks Online (QBO).

• Payroll Reconciliation: Reconcile ADP payroll runs to the general ledger each pay cycle (Note: payroll processing itself is handled separately).

2. Reconciliations Multi-Entity Consolidation & Month-End Close

• Account Reconciliations: Perform comprehensive monthly bank credit card and merchant-processor reconciliations across all operational accounts.

• Complex Journal Entries: Prepare and post standard journal entries accruals adjustments and inter-company allocation entries.

• Month-End Close Ownership: Drive the month-end close calendar to deliver a clean predictable and on-time close cycle.

• Financial Reporting & Revenue Recognition: Produce monthly entity-level financial statements (P&L Balance Sheet Cash Flow) and consolidate them across all entities (MIA MLT HG Amigos) into a unified enterprise view. Ensure proper revenue recognition metrics across DTC e-commerce (Shopify WooCommerce) retail POS (Lightspeed) and wholesale channels.

3. Inventory COGS & Sales Tax Compliance

• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory valuation and systematically record the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) across retail and e-commerce streams.

• Florida Sales Tax Ownership: Own the Florida sales tax lifecycle end-to-endpreparing/filing returns remitting payments and serving as the direct point of contact with the Florida Department of Revenue for retail stores.

• Tax Coordination: Partner with our external e-commerce sales tax firm (which files out-of-state returns) to ensure retail data and digital e-commerce metrics tie out perfectly.

4. External Advisory Coordination

• CPA Firm Liaison: Organize clean books and deliver background documentation to support the external CPA firm during annual tax filings 1099 processing and K-1 generation.

• Cross-Functional Syncs: Collaborate with retail e-commerce wholesale and operations teams to gather the source documentation (POS data merchant settlements fulfillment costs) needed to preserve bookkeeping accuracy.

• Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field paired with 5 years of progressive accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience. A CPA designation is a significant plus but not required.

• System Mastery: Deep hands-on proficiency navigating QuickBooks Online (QBO) is a non-negotiable requirement.

• Multi-Entity Competency: Proven experience maintaining books for multiple distinct legal entities including handling inter-company reconciliations and consolidated reporting frameworks.

• Technical Accounting Skills: Strong working knowledge of GAAP accrual accounting inventory tracking and state-level sales tax filing workflows.

• Data Modeling: Advanced Excel / Google Sheets capabilities (experience with pivot tables formulas and multi-tab linked workbooks).

• Software Familiarity: Prior experience with ADP and retail/e-commerce platforms (Lightspeed Shopify WooCommerce) is highly preferred.

• Modern Tooling Integration: Demonstrated experience using AI tools inside bookkeeping or accounting workflows. Candidates must be able to highlight specific tools they have personally utilized and the measurable results achievedsuch as accelerated close timelines automated transaction categorization automated reconciliations or intelligent document handling.
