Job Summary

Our client is seeking an accomplished engineering leader to drive the strategic direction and operational performance of its national water business. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced consulting engineer to lead multidisciplinary teams strengthen technical excellence and oversee the successful delivery of complex water infrastructure projects across South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of a centralised Water sector operating model across the business.
  • Provide national leadership and oversight of Water sector teams projects and technical resources.
  • Oversee the delivery of water engineering water treatment works wastewater treatment works dams reservoirs pump stations pipelines bulk water and hydraulic infrastructure projects.
  • Guide PM/Lead Engineers and construction supervision teams to ensure quality project delivery contract administration and HSE compliance.
  • Drive technical excellence governance quality management systems and consistent project delivery standards.
  • Manage commercial performance including profitability forecasting resource utilisation and project performance.
  • Support business development initiatives strategic tenders and client engagement.
  • Mentor and develop engineering professionals while promoting collaboration across regional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company governance frameworks contractual requirements and risk management processes.

Minimum Requirements

  • BSc Eng/BEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Professional registration with ECSA as Pr Eng is highly advantageous.
  • Minimum 15 years consulting engineering experience within the Water sector.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and major infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of water treatment works wastewater treatment works dams pump stations pipelines reservoirs and bulk water infrastructure.
  • Strong commercial governance stakeholder management and leadership capability.
  • Previous experience within a national or centralised business structure will be advantageous.
