This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams on technically challenging projects from concept through to construction.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate 3D piping models using Autodesk Revit.
- Produce detailed piping layouts isometrics general arrangement (GA) drawings spool drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Interpret and model information from P&IDs engineering specifications and process flow diagrams.
- Coordinate piping models with mechanical structural civil electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and resolve model clashes.
- Ensure all drawings comply with company drafting standards project specifications and applicable industry codes.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and drawing schedules.
- Revise and update drawings throughout project lifecycles while maintaining document control.
- Provide technical drafting support during fabrication construction and commissioning phases.
Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma or Draughting Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 35 years experience as a piping draughtsman in industrial or process engineering environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and AutoCAD will be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of:
- Industrial piping systems
- P&IDs
- Pipe supports
- Equipment layouts
- Fabrication drawings
- Industry standards and specifications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering calculations and technical documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
