Resource Geologist – Mining – Rustenburg, Northwest

Job Summary
Our client a leading mining house is seeking an experienced Resource Geologist to join its technical services team in Rustenburg Northwest.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly analytical geological professional with strong experience in Mineral Resource Estimation Geological Modelling Resource Reporting and Geological Database Management to play a key role in supporting mine planning resource optimisation and strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting into the Technical Services function you will be responsible for:
- Managing and maintaining geological and resource databases.
- Interpreting geological data and developing robust geological models.
- Conducting Mineral Resource estimations and resource classifications.
- Validating drilling sampling and assay data.
- Ensuring compliance with the SAMREC Code and company reporting standards.
- Preparing monthly quarterly and annual Mineral Resource reports.
- Reconciling geological models against production and grade control information.
- Supporting Life of Mine (LOM) planning and reserve conversion.
- Identifying resource growth opportunities through exploration and drilling programmes.
- Working closely with Mining Engineers Surveyors and Operational teams to optimise resource extraction.
- Managing QA/QC processes relating to sampling and resource estimation.
- Developing and maintaining geological block models using industry-leading geological software.
- Providing technical input into Competent Person Reports (CPRs) and Mineral Resource declarations.
Minimum Requirements
- BSc Degree in Geology Geological Sciences or equivalent qualification.
- Honours Degree in Geology will be advantageous.
- SACNASP registration (or eligibility for registration).
- Minimum 5 years' geological experience within the mining industry.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Mineral Resource Estimation and Geological Modelling.
- Sound knowledge of the SAMREC Code and Mineral Resource reporting requirements.
- Open-pit mining experience will be advantageous.
- Valid Code B Driver's Licence.
