Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to oversee engineering quality and compliance with construction sites. This role will bridge the gap between design and construction providing technical guidance and ensuring projects meet required quality safety and regulatory standards.
Job Description:
- Oversee engineering quality processes including method statements and quality control plans
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems and project specifications
- Manage site RFIs and quality-related queries
- Liaise with engineering and construction teams to resolve technical and design issues
- Monitor site activities for compliance with design safety and quality requirements
- Identify and report quality risks and opportunities for improvement
- Minimum 5 years relevant engineering experience
- Strong site-based construction and quality assurance experience
- Knowledge of QMS quality control practices and method statements
- Familiarity with South African standards and regulations including SANS NHBRC and GCC/JBCC
- Strong communication problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Proficiency in Autodesk software
- BTech in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
- ECSA eligibility/pre-registration preferred
- Proven on-site construction experience is essential
