Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Regional Credit Manager to lead a portfolio within the Credit Management function.
This role will be responsible for overseeing collections account reconciliations banking invoicing and customer queries while ensuring the effective recovery of outstanding debts and the maintenance of strong financial controls.

This role will be responsible for overseeing collections account reconciliations banking invoicing and customer queries while ensuring the effective recovery of outstanding debts and the maintenance of strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead supervise and support the daily operations of the debtors team.
- Set clear performance objectives and monitor team performance against KPIs.
- Provide coaching training and development to team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and manage team workflows effectively.
- Promote continuous improvement and accountability within the team.
- Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger to ensure the timely collection of outstanding balances.
- Ensure debtor accounts are accurately maintained reconciled and up to date.
- Monitor compliance with approved payment terms and company credit policies.
- Assist with banking invoicing and other ad hoc credit-related functions.
- Drive effective collection strategies to optimise cash flow.
- Implement and enforce credit policies and procedures.
- Assess and manage credit risk in collaboration with senior credit management.
- Identify potential credit risks early and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Minimise bad debts through proactive account management and effective collection practices.
- Liaise with the legal department on escalated or high-risk accounts where required.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key customers and business partners.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to resolve account-related matters efficiently.
- Ensure professional service-focused communication throughout all debtor interactions.
- Address and resolve customer queries relating to accounts payments and balances.
- Develop and analyse credit and collections reports to monitor team and portfolio performance.
- Prepare and review age analysis and collections performance reports.
- Support month-end and year-end processes by ensuring accurate debtor information and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls audit requirements and applicable financial regulations.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the credit function.
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Credit Control / Accounts Receivable.
- At least 2 years experience in a management or supervisory capacity.
- Experience within retail or FMCG will be advantageous.
