Reefer Technician

Are you a qualified Reefer Technician with a passion for refrigeration systems and electrical fault finding Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated technician to join their Reefer Department where youll play a vital role in ensuring refrigerated containers are maintained repaired and prepared for the safe transport of perishable cargo worldwide.

• Perform Pre-Trip Inspections (PTIs) on refrigerated containers.
• Conduct automated and manual inspections to ensure containers meet shipping line standards.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration and electrical faults on reefer containers.
• Complete PTI reports inspection documentation and job cards accurately.
• Prepare and calibrate refrigerated containers for specialised shipments including STERI cargo.
• Monitor full reefer containers and ensure they remain operational.
• Carry out special treatment and preparation services according to customer specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Participate in standby and after-hours call-outs when required.
• Maintain high safety quality and operational standards.
• Work closely with supervisors and operational teams to ensure production targets are achieved.

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Qualified Artisan in Refrigeration or Electrical (essential).
• Experience working on refrigeration systems electrical equipment or refrigerated containers will be advantageous.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals procedures and wiring diagrams.
• Good report writing and record-keeping skills.
• Sound understanding of refrigeration principles and electrical systems.
• Willingness to work overtime shifts and standby call-outs when required.
