The Opportunity
A well-established dealership in Potchefstroom is looking for a qualified Technician to join its workshop team. This is a hands-on role in a busy franchised workshop. It suits a trade-tested artisan who takes pride in accurate diagnosis quality workmanship and getting vehicles back to customers right the first time.
Scope of the Role
The Technician will service diagnose and repair Toyota passenger and light commercial vehicles including the Hilux Fortuner Corolla Cross and hybrid models. All work must meet manufacturer standards warranty requirements and the dealerships turnaround and quality targets.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out scheduled services maintenance and repairs according to Toyota procedures and specifications
Diagnose mechanical electrical and electronic faults using Toyota diagnostic equipment and software
Perform warranty repairs and complete the required documentation accurately
Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new vehicles
Record labour times parts used and findings on job cards and the dealer management system
Identify additional work needed and report it to the Foreman or Service Advisor
Road test vehicles before and after repairs to confirm quality
Keep tools equipment and the work bay clean safe and in good order
Follow all health and safety procedures including hybrid high-voltage safety protocols
Attend Toyota technical training as required
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Matric (Grade 12)
Qualified Motor Mechanic with a trade test certificate (Red Seal / QCTO)
At least 3 years post-trade experience in a franchised dealership workshop
Strong diagnostic ability on modern vehicle electronic systems
Valid drivers licence and own reliable transport
Must reside in or near Potchefstroom or be willing to relocate
Advantageous
Previous Toyota dealership experience
Completed Toyota T-TEP training levels
Hybrid vehicle experience and high-voltage safety training
Experience using Toyota Techstream or similar OEM diagnostic software
Auto electrical knowledge

They take ownership of their work communicate clearly with the Foreman and Service Advisors and stay calm under workshop pressure. They should want to keep learning as vehicle technology moves towards hybrid and electrified drivetrains.
