Our client a well-established engineering and manufacturing company is seeking a Project Cost Accountant to support the financial management of projects across the business. The role involves working closely with the sales operations project management and finance teams to ensure accurate project costing reporting budgeting and financial control.

Responsibilities

Working with the Sales Team to calculate and conclude project costings before final submissions to customers
Tracking and monitoring project costs and profitability
Preparing project reports forecasts and budget tracking
Analysing project performance and identifying variances
Performing project revenue recognition calculations
Assisting with cash flow forecasting and working capital management
Working closely with project and operational teams to support decision-making
Assisting with process improvements and reporting efficiencies

Requirements

2 to 7 years finance or accounting experience
Exposure to project costing
Exposure to budgeting and forecasting
Exposure to financial reporting and reconciliations
Experience in project accounting within a manufacturing mining engineering construction or industrial environment will be advantageous
Exceptional Excel skills are non-negotiable
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Good attention to detail
Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to take initiative and solve problems
Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment
