Job Summary
Background:
- Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited (WHC) is a wholly-owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences
- WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives
- In addition WHC offers a range of products and services to Academics
Main purpose of the job:
- To effectively support operations leadership implementation and coordination of the surveillance activity
- KwaZulu Natal
- Responsible for the coordination and management of all administration and logistical aspects of the project
- Co-ordinate and submit appropriate reports timeously
- Oversee the implementation and coordination of the of surveillance activity
- Oversee the management of facility project staff
- Supervise the training of Facility Project staff as needed
- Communicate with Stakeholders and Senior Project team around management issues
- Liaise with necessary shared services at WHC to ensure efficient support required
- Liaise with Laboratory personnel and respond to and help resolve queries
- Liaise with Suppliers when necessary regarding contracts
- Degree in appropriate discipline (Public Health / Biomedical Technology/ Nursing or closely related Science)
- Minimum 2 years Project Coordinator or Project Management experience in a Healthcare environment
- Experience working in a Donor funded organization Sub Recipients and NGOs
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Self-motivated able to work independently and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong skills in project management and coordination
- Strong administrative skills and experience
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Able to trouble shoot independently
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS care health systems and laboratory experience related to HIV testing requirements
- Must have a drivers license and own vehicle
- Registration with the HPCSA / SANC is desirable
- A degree of flexibility and willingness to travel to up to six facilities located across the eThekwini District uMgungundlovu District and Ugu District
- The environment may at times be busy and need excellent management skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff Managers and Stakeholders
