Job Summary

Responsible for planning coordinating and monitoring production activities to support the achievement of safe efficient and planned mining production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain production plans and schedules.

Coordinate drilling blasting loading and hauling activities.

Track production against planned targets.

Identify production bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.

Coordinate with production and operational teams.

Monitor production performance and prepare relevant reports.

Support continuous improvement of production planning processes.

Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or related field.

Minimum 5 years experience in opencast production planning.

Experience in a mining production environment.

Strong planning coordination and reporting skills.

Computer literacy and ability to work with production planning systems.

Required Skills:

Maintenance planning and scheduling. Preventive and corrective maintenance coordination. Knowledge of mechanical or electrical equipment and maintenance procedures. Work order management and maintenance recordkeeping. Spare parts planning and inventory coordination. CMMS experience (e.g. SAP PM or similar maintenance management systems). Understanding of health safety and mining compliance requirements. Planning organisational analytical and problem-solving skills. Communication and coordination with engineering teams supervisors and contractors.

Required Education:

Grade 12 / Matric.N3 or an equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.A recognised maintenance planning qualification or relevant technical certification is maintenance planning experience in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
