Job Summary

The aim of the position is to manage process engineering projects. The full scope of projects are managed including feasibility studies research and lab trials process design costing procurement and final handover to production team. This position is also responsible to drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing plant in order to maintain and improve operating efficiencies reduce cost and improve sustainability.


Required Skills:

  • Manage the full scope of process engineering projects: Feasibility studies Scope definition Process design PFD/P&ID development writing SOW documents
  • Manage the scale-up of new and modified products and processes from laboratory prototypes and pilot line productions to manufacturing scale feasibility testing within full-scale production plants
  • Evaluate the impact of projects on current processes and develop and implement appropriate changes relating to operating safety and quality procedures.
  • Plan and manage the execution of the project with regards to time budget and quality.
  • Development of systems to measure key plant technical performance utility and energy usage and output quality standards.
  • Perform data analysis and root-cause analysis to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Support issue resolution and optimizing production processes to eliminate losses improve quality capacity throughput and conversion cost.
  • Develop and review heat and mass balances on variance sites to monitor process performance.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by conducting research and applying knowledge of product design fabrication assembly tooling and material; consulting equipment vendors and soliciting observations from operators.
  • Identify and develop new processes or product opportunities that create distinct value and enable business growth.

Health and Safety

  • Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks
  • Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management
  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
  • Attend safety education and refresher programmes
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures at Soill
  • Distribute safety information as and when required
  • Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times
