City of Newcastle (CN) has a brand-new permanent position for a Payroll & Workers Compensation Officer to join our team.

As a member of our team you wont just work for the city; youll co-create it. Here your ideas and efforts directly shape the places where you and your community live work and play. You will play a key role in ensuring workers compensation wage entitlements and payroll payments are processed accurately on time and in line with legislative requirements.

Reporting to the Payroll & Rewards Lead this is a unique opportunity to combine your payroll expertise with workers compensation administration in a role that sits at the heart of employee support compliance and service delivery. You will be responsible for calculating and processing workers compensation wage payments payroll adjustments reconciliations and reporting while also contributing to fortnightly payroll activities and end-of-financial-year processing.

We are seeking someone with experience in payroll and/or workers compensation who has a keen eye for detail strong systems capability and a passion for continuous improvement. You will work closely with our Payroll WHS Injury Management and Finance teams to strengthen processes improve data integrity and help ensure alignment between systems and practices.

Remuneration: $93631.40 17.5% annual leave loading yearly payment 12% Superannuation per annum for a 35-hour week
