Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full payroll function from input through to final processing
- Oversee monthly payroll reconciliations journals and reporting
- Manage employee changes leave overtime deductions and benefits
- Ensure accurate PAYE UIF SDL and other statutory submissions
- Maintain payroll controls and ensure legislative compliance
- Review payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Manage payroll queries and provide support to employees and stakeholders
- Prepare payroll reports and provide insights to Finance and management
- Support internal and external payroll audits
- Maintain accurate employee and payroll records
- Identify opportunities to streamline automate and improve payroll processes
- Lead manage and develop the payroll team
- Relevant tertiary or payroll qualification
- Managerial payroll experience within a high-volume environment
- Payspace Super User essential
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and statutory requirements
- Full payroll cycle experience
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
- Experience with payroll reconciliations journals and reporting
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Able to work under pressure and meet non-negotiable payroll deadlines
- Hands-on organised and solutions-driven approach
