Pastry Sous Chef

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join a luxury boutique hotel in Centurion Gauteng.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate pastry professional who takes pride in producing high-quality desserts pastries and baked goods while supporting the pastry kitchen and maintaining exceptional culinary standards.

• Assisting the Pastry Chef with the daily operation of the pastry kitchen
  

• Preparing and producing a variety of high-quality pastries desserts breads and baked goods
  

• Ensuring consistency presentation and quality across all pastry products
  

• Supporting menu development and introducing creative pastry concepts
  

• Supervising and guiding junior pastry team members
  

• Ensuring mise en place is completed efficiently and to the required standard
  

• Maintaining high standards of hygiene cleanliness and food safety
  

• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and stock control
  

• Minimising wastage while maintaining quality and portion control
  

• Assisting with training and development within the pastry team
  

• Supporting the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef with daily kitchen requirements
  

• Previous experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or in a senior pastry role
  

• Formal culinary or pastry qualification would be advantageous
  

• Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and production
  

• Experience within a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment
  

• Excellent attention to detail and presentation
  

• Creative approach to pastry and dessert preparation
  

• Strong leadership and communication skills
  

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  

• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
  

• Flexible approach to working hours including weekends and public holidays
