Job Summary

Our client an established company in the mining industry is looking for an Outbound Planner to join their team in Boksburg on a six-month contract.
The Outbound Planner will support the effective management of customer order flow and act as a key interface with the Sales Area.
This role is suited to a logistics and supply chain professional with strong order management customer service stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills within a warehousing distribution or supply chain environment.
Key Responsibilities
Releasing customer orders daily including auto mass and manual release orders
Reviewing and resolving suspended orders
Cancelling orders based on customer requests superseded items or related requirements
Working with Inventory Purchasing and Warehouse teams to source required items
Resolving order issues such as incorrect addresses and shipping instructions
Managing backorders and resolving allocation problems daily
Reviewing outstanding orders and changing sources where required
Reviewing orders and following up where inventory or purchase orders are required
Reviewing and resolving logistics process support tickets relating to order expediting and shipment discrepancies
Expediting Unit Down Orders daily
Resolving sales orders that did not generate purchase orders in the system
Maintaining customer master data on a quarterly basis
Communicating weekly with internal and external customers regarding open order progress
Processing credit notes where required
Qualifications and Experience
Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
Diploma or Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
2 to 4 years experience in a similar role within a warehousing distribution or supply chain environment
Experience managing internal and/or external customer accounts
Good working knowledge of international trade and freight processes
Prior exposure to Aurora S21DI and PBI reporting would be advantageous
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel as a minimum requirement
Exposure to Environmental Health and Safety systems
Proven ability to work independently within a distribution service environment
Strong communication liaison and negotiation skills
Physically and medically fit
