Operations Manager – Import, Warehousing & Distribution

A well-established organisation in Import Warehousing & Distribution is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead its Import Warehousing & Distribution operations in Johannesburg.

This is a senior leadership role requiring a commercially minded professional with a proven track record of driving operational excellence leading high-performing teams improving efficiencies and consistently achieving key business KPIs.

• Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics or Operations Management
• Minimum 5 years experience as an Operations Manager within an import distribution warehousing and logistics environment.
• Essential: Proven experience managing both warehousing and logistics operations.
• Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding operational KPIs.
• Strong leadership experience managing large operational teams.
• Experience managing operational budgets and cost control initiatives.
• Sound understanding of inventory management warehouse optimisation and distribution processes.
• Experience implementing and improving operational processes and efficiencies.
• Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety quality and compliance standards.
• Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office.
• Valid South African drivers licence.

• Lead and manage all warehousing and logistics operations.
• Drive operational efficiency productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop monitor and achieve operational KPIs and performance targets.
• Manage warehouse performance inventory accuracy and stock control.
• Oversee transport distribution and delivery operations.
• Ensure exceptional customer service and on-time delivery performance.
• Lead coach and develop management and operational teams.
• Manage operational budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Analyse operational data and prepare management reports.
• Identify risks and implement effective operational solutions.
• Work closely with senior leadership to support business growth and strategic objectives.
