A well-established and respected South African retail organisation is looking for an experienced Operational Financial Manager to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional who enjoys the operational side of finance and wants to play a key role in maintaining a stable well-run finance function.

Working closely with senior leadership you will become the trusted second-in-command within the finance department taking ownership of the full operational finance function. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys ensuring financial accuracy compliance and process excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operational finance function
• Manage tax compliance and statutory requirements
• Coordinate and manage external audits
• Oversee the debtors and creditors functions
• Prepare monthly management accounts
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliations
• Maintain strong financial controls and compliance across the business
• Support continuous improvement of finance processes and procedures

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Completed Bcom in Finance
Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
2 - 3 years post article experience
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge
Experience in tax compliance audits and management accounts
Proven operational finance experience within a medium to large organisation
Currently operating as a strong Senior Accountant or already in a Financial Manager role
Hands-on detail-oriented and technically strong
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted working relationships
