Job Summary

Description

To ensure that Primary Health Care Occupational Health and Emergency Medical Services are appropriately and effectively delivered to all SAPREFs staff and service providers.

To advise on pertinent health issues for SAPREF to stay abreast of pending legal shareholder and other health related requirements.

Key Objectives:

  • Targeted employee health monitoring done in accordance with the risks to which each employee may be exposed and in keeping with the inherent requirements of the employees job
  • Carry out the administrative and operational activities of the Clinic to ensure safe keeping of records and drugs while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Capture all Medicals and other relevant information directly into the ClinicSister system to enhance record keeping and paperless processes
  • Evaluate and treat and report Occupational injuries and illnesses under the supervision of the Company Doctor in an efficient and professional manner within the scope of practice and in line with clinical nursing guidelines and in keeping with the relevant legislation (COID Act Occupational Health & Safety Act The Nursing Act and The Medicines and related substances control Act).
  • Drive the wellness programme to educate and create an awareness of potential health risks and to promote good health.
  • Provide a limited Primary Health Care service which includes the Treatment of minor non- work-related illnesses and injuries and the Monitoring of Chronic conditions
  • Responsible for capturing and reporting the statistics on injuries occupational diseases and sick notes to track the trends and identify areas of potential risk.
  • Attend and feedback at the quarterly meeting with the Clinic Manager HSSE Manager and HR partner as per Agenda requirements
  • Education counselling and presentation on health to create awareness
  • Properly manage emergency incidents thus minimizing the traumatic aftereffects on other stakeholders involved.
  • To counsel patients referred to due to drug/alcohol abuse and social or work stress and trauma where possible refer them to EAP to ensure optimum health care.
  • To prepare and manage the budget to ensure optimum cost benefit and procure and maintain medical supplies to run the clinic
  • Coordinate the HIV and EAP programmes



Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma/Degree in General Nursing Community Health Midwifery Psychiatry
  • Diploma /Btech in Occupational Health Nursing
  • Dispensing Qualification and License
  • Audiometry Certificate
  • Registration with SASOHN
  • Spirometry Certificate
  • Registration with SANC
  • BLS Certificate
  • Valid drivers license
  • 3 Years or more experience in Occ Health environment
