Job Title: Construction Manager/ Site Agent

Job Overview:

The Construction Manager / Site Agent is responsible for the overall management coordination and successful delivery of construction projects. The role ensures that all works are completed safely on schedule within budget and to the required quality standards while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations statutory requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely on time within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Plan coordinate and supervise civil construction works including pipelines earthworks roads concrete structures and reservoir projects.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications contract requirements SANS 1200 standards and GCC conditions of contract.
• Monitor project schedules and track progress using project management tools such as MS Project.
• Manage subcontractors site personnel plant equipment and material resources effectively.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to health safety environmental and quality requirements.
• Liaise with clients consultants engineers local authorities and other project stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit progress reports site documentation and project updates to management.
• Identify manage and mitigate project risks and site-related issues.
• Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project objectives and operational excellence.

Requirements:

Experience

• Minimum of 5-8 years experience in construction management on civil engineering projects.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering Construction Management or a related discipline.
• ECSA or SACPCMP registration (preferred).
• Proven experience managing civil construction projects including:
  • Pipelines
  • Earthworks
  • Roads
  • Concrete works
  • Reservoirs
• Strong knowledge and practical application of SANS 1200 specifications and GCC contract requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software particularly MS Project.
• Excellent leadership organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively under pressure.
• Valid South African drivers license.
