Join Race Coast as National Events Sales Manager - Drive Event Sales Across Our Iconic Venues

We are looking for a commercially driven confident and results-focused National Events Sales Manager to lead event sales growth across Race Coasts venues in the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

The ideal incumbent will be a strong sales professional with proven experience in hospitality events conferencing venue hire business development or commercial partnerships. This role requires someone who can build pipeline convert opportunities manage client relationships develop proposals support pricing discipline and drive profitable revenue across corporate events conferences hospitality private functions activations and major event opportunities.

The National Events Sales Manager will report to the Head of Events / Head of Hospitality & Events / Commercial Executive and will work closely with regional events teams hospitality Food & Beverage Marketing Finance and Operations to ensure that every sales opportunity is commercially viable professionally proposed and properly handed over for delivery.

The goal is to grow profitable event revenue nationally while protecting the guest experience venue standards operational capacity and commercial governance.

Location Race Coast Western Cape and Race Coast KwaZulu-Natal venues including Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Hollywoodbets Durbanville Hollywoodbets Greyville and Hollywoodbets Scottsville (on-site)

Type Full-Time

Experience A minimum of five (5) years experience in event sales hospitality sales conference sales venue hire business development or a similar commercial environment. A minimum of two (2) years experience managing sales targets pipelines proposals client relationships or sales support staff.

What Youll Do
  • Develop and implement a national events sales strategy aligned to Race Coasts commercial hospitality and venue utilisation objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth across conferences corporate events private functions race-day hospitality suite sales venue hire brand activations partner events and major event opportunities.
  • Build manage and report on a national events sales pipeline across Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities from corporates agencies event organisers sponsors brands tourism partners hospitality clients and private event markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients partners sponsors event agencies professional conference organisers corporates and repeat customers.
  • Prepare and oversee professional proposals quotations presentations rate cards venue packages and client contracts.
  • Ensure all proposals are aligned to approved pricing minimum spends package structures venue capacity operational feasibility and gross margin requirements.
  • Set monitor and achieve national event sales targets including revenue conversion rate average deal size and pipeline value.
  • Work closely with regional Events Managers Hospitality & Conference Managers and operational teams to ensure accurate event scoping before proposals are submitted.
  • Work with Food & Beverage to ensure hospitality packages menus and event offers are commercially viable and operationally deliverable.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop campaigns sales collateral venue positioning seasonal promotions and lead generation initiatives.
  • Represent Race Coast at networking events trade expos client meetings industry functions and commercial partnership discussions.
  • Conduct site inspections client presentations and venue walk-throughs across Race Coast venues.
  • Ensure client handovers to event delivery teams are clear complete and documented once bookings are confirmed.
  • Track sales performance enquiry sources conversion rates lost business reasons client trends and market opportunities.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports on pipeline confirmed revenue sales activity conversion rates risks and forecasted income.
  • Support the development of standardised national event packages venue hire models hospitality offers conference packages and upgrade opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor venues market pricing client demand and industry trends to improve Race Coasts commercial positioning.
  • Ensure no event is treated as confirmed until signed documentation deposit confirmation and internal delivery ownership are in place.
  • Ensure client changes after quote or contract stage are re-costed approved and documented before being committed to delivery.
  • Supervise support or mentor Events Sales Coordinators and regional sales support staff where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records client notes sales activity proposal status and follow-up actions.
  • Collaborate with Finance to support invoicing deposits payment milestones and debtor-risk visibility.
  • Escalate low-margin high-risk high-complexity or strategically sensitive opportunities to senior management before commitment.

  • Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 equivalent qualification.
  • Degree or Diploma in Sales Marketing Hospitality Events Management Business Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years proven experience in event sales hospitality sales conference sales venue hire business development or commercial partnerships.
  • Experience selling events hospitality packages conferences corporate functions sponsorship-linked events or venue-based experiences.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and grow revenue.
  • Strong negotiation presentation and client relationship management skills.
  • Experience preparing proposals quotations contracts sales presentations and commercial packages.
  • Strong commercial judgement with an understanding of pricing margins minimum spends deposits payment terms and profitability.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline CRM system sales reports and conversion tracking.
  • Experience working with Operations Food & Beverage Finance Marketing and event delivery teams.
  • Ability to understand client requirements and translate them into commercially viable event solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office Excel PowerPoint email and CRM or sales management tools.
  • Experience in market analysis competitor tracking or venue positioning will be advantageous.
  • Experience managing or mentoring sales coordinators or support staff will be advantageous.
  • Valid drivers licence and own reliable vehicle with the ability to travel between Race Coast venues client meetings trade expos networking events and off-site activations as required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including selected race days weekends client events and industry networking opportunities.
  • Clear criminal record.
