Mechanical HVAC (Building Services) Consulting Engineer

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Building Services Consulting Engineer to join its Cape Town office. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career mechanical engineer looking to build a career within the building services consulting industry working on a diverse range of commercial healthcare retail hospitality and public infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers assisting with the design specification project management and delivery of mechanical building services systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and design of mechanical building services systems.
• Design HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems.
• Assist with the design of Fire Protection and Wet Services systems.
• Conduct mechanical services audits and site assessments.
• Prepare engineering calculations technical specifications and reports.
• Assist with cost estimates bills of quantities and tender documentation.
• Support project management throughout all project phases.
• Liaise with clients architects contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant South African standards and project specifications.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng Mechanical Engineering
• BSc Mechanical Engineering
• BTech Mechanical Engineering
• 03 years experience preferably within a consulting engineering environment.
• Strong interest in Building Services Engineering.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
