Job Summary
Are you a detail-oriented Mechanical Draughtsman with strong 3D modelling experience and a passion for turning concepts into practical manufacturing solutions This opportunity offers exposure to the full project lifecycle from design and drafting through to fabrication support site measurements and project coordination within a fast-paced engineering environment.
Job Description:
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings plant layouts and 3D models for engineering projects
- Develop mechanical designs with a focus on manufacturability efficiency and waste reduction
- Collaborate closely with fabrication assembly and production teams to ensure designs are practical and achievable
- Assist engineers with design development calculations and drawing revisions
- Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs) material lists and manufacturing documentation
- Create as-built drawings and documentation for manufacturing processes
- Conduct site surveys and take measurements where required
- Liaise with suppliers service providers and internal stakeholders throughout project execution
- Monitor project timelines and ensure deliverables are completed according to schedule
- Ensure compliance with quality management procedures and engineering standards
- Perform visual and dimensional checks to verify compliance with specifications
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman using 2D and 3D CAD software
- Strong mechanical design and drafting experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Knowledge of fabrication processes materials and manufacturing techniques
- Experience preparing bills of materials and project documentation
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of food and beverage processing equipment will be advantageous
- Valid drivers licence required
- Relevant Draughting Qualification Mechanical Engineering Qualification or equivalent technical certification
