Job Summary
Our client based in Port Elizabeth is seeking to employ a Maintenance Supervisor to join their Manufacturing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to lead factory maintenance operations ensuring maximum equipment uptime safe working practices and efficient maintenance processes to support production targets and product quality.

Requirements:
- Certificate in a Technical Discipline or Maintenance-related field (NQF 5).
- Trade Test (NQF 5).
- First Line Management Certificate (FLMP) (NQF 5).
- Diploma in a Technical Discipline or Maintenance-related field (NQF 6) (advantageous).
- Up to 5 years experience in maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment.
- 12 years supervisory experience.
- Experience working shifts.
- Computer literacy (MS Office Suite SAP ERP and maintenance management systems).
- Sound knowledge of maintenance practices procedures and manufacturing processes.
- Good understanding of Health Safety Environmental and manufacturing legislation.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily factory maintenance operations.
- Coordinate reactive preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
- Minimise plant and equipment downtime through effective maintenance planning.
- Coordinate first-line maintenance to optimise production efficiency.
- Raise and manage maintenance job cards and ensure required work permits are obtained.
- Participate in root cause analysis (5 Why 8D etc.) to prevent recurring equipment failures.
- Review and approve completed maintenance work.
- Ensure plant equipment and work areas remain safe and well maintained.
- Enforce housekeeping standards throughout the factory.
- Coordinate planned plant shutdowns and maintenance activities.
- Prepare maintenance reports and provide feedback to management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies procedures and statutory regulations.
- Promote and enforce Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards.
- Identify operational risks and report concerns to management.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Resolve maintenance-related issues efficiently and professionally.
- Supervise and support maintenance team members.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and monitor performance objectives.
- Identify training and development needs in collaboration with HR.
- Manage employee relations matters fairly and consistently.
- Assist with maintenance budget preparation.
- Monitor maintenance expenditure and ensure costs remain within budget.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- Promote the efficient use of maintenance resources.
