Laboratory Assistant

Permanent Position: Laboratory Assistant Company: Msuez Uk Location: Cape Town South Africa Contract Details: Full-time Permanent Msuez Uk is a leading provider of environmental and engineering services in South Africa. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Cape Town. As a Laboratory Assistant you will be responsible for assisting our laboratory technicians in conducting experiments tests and analyses on various samples. You will also be responsible for maintaining and organizing laboratory equipment and supplies as well as recording and reporting data accurately. Key Responsibilities: - Assist laboratory technicians in conducting experiments tests and analyses on various samples - Prepare and handle samples for testing following all safety protocols - Maintain and organize laboratory equipment and supplies - Record and report data accurately and in a timely manner - Communicate any issues or discrepancies to the laboratory supervisor - Follow standard operating procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment - Participate in quality control and quality assurance procedures - Assist in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment - Keep up-to-date with industry developments and new techniques in laboratory testing Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in a relevant field preferred - Previous experience working in a laboratory setting preferred - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately - Excellent organizational and time-management skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs - Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment - Flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings if needed We offer a competitive salary and benefits package as well as opportunities for growth and development within our company.
