As our Junior Tax Reporting Specialist youll play a key part in supporting the International Tax and Reporting Specialist in executing the Groups international tax reporting tax consolidation global transparency reporting and Pillar Two compliance processes. Your drive and ideas will help us move faster improve smarter and stay ahead of the game.

What youll do

Youll take ownership of work that gives us our competitive edge including:

Tax Consolidation and Group Tax Reporting

  • Assist with the preparation of entity-level and group-level tax consolidation schedules.

  • Collect and consolidate current tax deferred tax tax payment tax provision and tax return information across legal entities.

  • Support the reconciliation of tax balances from entity records to the Group consolidation system.

  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of schedules relating to: current income tax balances deferred tax balances tax receivables and payables tax payments and refunds provision-to-return adjustments tax attributes and carry forwards intercompany and consolidation adjustments and Pillar Two balances and disclosures

  • Investigate differences between tax reporting packs general ledger balances statutory accounts and consolidated financial information.

  • Prepare clear reconciliation explanations and supporting schedules for review.

  • Assist with period-end tax reporting processes including monthly quarterly and annual reporting cycles.

  • Support the International Tax and Reporting Specialist in preparing consolidated tax reporting information.

Tax Provision and Financial Reporting Support

  • Assist in gathering group tax information required for the quarterly and annual tax consolidation 6-K and 20-F reporting.

  • Support the preparation of group tax provision schedules entity-level tax reporting packs and effective tax rate information.

  • Assist with the reconciliation of international tax provision data to tax consolidation schedules and compliance information.

  • Provide supporting data for tax-related financial statement disclosures and management reporting.

  • Assist with the preparation of schedules requested by external auditors as part of quarterly reviews and annual audits.

  • Maintain appropriate evidence of preparation review approval and reconciliation.

  • Assist in gathering group tax information required for the quarterly and annual tax consolidation 6-K and 20-F reporting.

Data Collection Validation and Reconciliation

  • Extract data from ERP consolidation tax reporting and document management systems.

  • Perform first-level data quality checks including: completeness checks duplicate checks entity and jurisdiction mapping checks currency validation period validation mathematical checks reasonableness checks prior-year comparisons source-to-report reconciliations

  • Maintain data source registers mapping files reporting templates and supporting schedules.

  • Document the source and transformation of data used in tax reporting calculations.

  • Ensure that manual adjustments are clearly identified explained supported and approved.

  • Assist with resolving data quality problems with Finance Controllership Tax Compliance and local reporting teams.

  • Protect confidential financial tax employee and legal entity information in accordance with company policies.

SOX and Internal Control Support

  • Execute assigned tax reporting controls in accordance with the Groups SOX and internal control framework.

  • Prepare and retain control evidence relating to: data collection data validation reconciliations reporting completeness system access review and approval submission and filing evidence

  • Follow approved procedures reporting instructions templates and review protocols.

  • Assist with internal audit external audit and control testing requests.

  • Report identified control exceptions reconciliation differences or process failures to the International Tax and Reporting Specialist and Tax VP.

  • Support the remediation of control deficiencies and the implementation of improved procedures.

  • Maintain clear audit trails that allow reporting amounts to be traced to source records.

Reporting Calendar and Deliverable Management

  • Maintain detailed reporting calendars.

  • Track responsible parties required inputs review dates approval dates deadlines and submission status.

  • Send data requests and deadline reminders to relevant stakeholders.

  • Maintain issue registers query registers and open-item registers.

  • Proactively communicate potential delays or data gaps to the International Tax and Reporting Specialist.

  • Retain evidence of filings notifications approvals and submissions.

  • Support the preparation of status reports for the Head of International Tax and Transfer Pricing and the Head of Tax Compliance.

Audit and Regulatory Support

  • Assist with information requests from tax authorities internal audit external audit and external advisors.

  • Retrieve and organise tax reporting workpapers source data reconciliations correspondence and filing evidence.

  • Maintain structured audit support folders and document request registers.

Tax Technology and Process Improvement

  • Assist with the maintenance and improvement of tax reporting templates workflows databases and dashboards.

  • Support automation of recurring data collection reconciliation consolidation and reporting activities.

  • Participate in user acceptance testing for new tax reporting tools and system enhancements.

  • Document system processes data flows user procedures and control points.

  • Identify repetitive manual tasks recurring data issues and opportunities for standardisation.

  • Support initiatives to improve the accuracy efficiency scalability and auditability of tax reporting processes.

  • Develop proficiency in the Groups ERP consolidation tax reporting data analytics and document management systems. More detailed description of the activity/behaviour.

Team Collaboration and Development

  • Work closely with tax and finance teams and build strong relationships that support collaboration and knowledge sharing.

  • Develop technical knowledge of tax reporting processes and requirements.

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and best practice within the team.

  • Honours degree in Tax will be advantageous

  • Professional qualification CA(SA) CPA CTA or equivalent will be advantageous / working towards it

  • 2 years experience in tax accounting or tax reporting

  • Experience in a multinational and / or listed company environment including jurisdiction across Europe UK NZ Canada and Africa.

  • Strong knowledge of tax accounting and reporting in line with IFRS (IAS 12)

  • Ability to operate in a complex multijurisdictional environment

  • Strong analytical governance and risk management capability

  • High level of integrity and professional judgment

  • Experience in Microsoft suite including Excel and MS Word

  • Knowledge and experience with tax software: Thomson Reuters (Orbitax and OTP)

Desirable skills youve got up your sleeve

It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:

  • Knowledge and experience with accounting and reporting software: Business Central / Navision and Microsoft TM1

  • Experience or knowledge of SOX
