Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Junior Scrap Metal Buyer to join the Port Elizabeth team
- Source ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal from existing and new suppliers.
- Conduct site visits to suppliers scrapyards industrial businesses and construction sites.
- Negotiate pricing within approved company parameters.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and purchase agreements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Identify and develop new procurement opportunities.
- Assess and identify different grades of scrap metal.
- Evaluate quality contamination levels and estimated weight of materials.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- 12 years experience in buying procurement sales logistics recycling manufacturing or a related industry.
- Experience in the scrap metal recycling steel or waste management industry will be advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook).
- Valid drivers license
