Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician to join the Port Elizabeth team

  • Perform routine inspections on machinery and equipment
  • Assist with preventative maintenance activities
  • Assist with minor machine repairs and breakdowns
  • Report equipment faults and maintenance concerns
  • Assist with basic fabrication welding and workshop tasks
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in the workshop and maintenance areas
  • Complete maintenance checklists and basic documentation
  • Assist with machinery installations and maintenance projects as required
  • Adhere to company health and safety procedures at all times
  • Assist with basic welding cutting and grinding activities under supervision
  • Assist with the repair and maintenance of machine guards frames and related equipment
  • Safely use maintenance and workshop tools and equipment
  • Support senior maintenance personnel with fabrication and workshop tasks as required
  • Assist with the preparation of materials and components for maintenance and repair work
  • Work closely with the production and maintenance teams to support daily operational requirements


Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Technical school qualification N2/N3 Mechanical qualification or equivalent would be advantageous
  • 1 to 3 years experience in a manufacturing production or maintenance environment would be advantageous
  • Basic welding and steel fabrication experience
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and machinery
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics would be advantageous
  • Basic electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Valid drivers licence would be advantageous
  • Valid forklift licence would be advantageous



Required Skills:
