Job Summary
- Perform routine inspections on machinery and equipment
- Assist with preventative maintenance activities
- Assist with minor machine repairs and breakdowns
- Report equipment faults and maintenance concerns
- Assist with basic fabrication welding and workshop tasks
- Maintain good housekeeping standards in the workshop and maintenance areas
- Complete maintenance checklists and basic documentation
- Assist with machinery installations and maintenance projects as required
- Adhere to company health and safety procedures at all times
- Assist with basic welding cutting and grinding activities under supervision
- Assist with the repair and maintenance of machine guards frames and related equipment
- Safely use maintenance and workshop tools and equipment
- Support senior maintenance personnel with fabrication and workshop tasks as required
- Assist with the preparation of materials and components for maintenance and repair work
- Work closely with the production and maintenance teams to support daily operational requirements
- Grade 12
- Technical school qualification N2/N3 Mechanical qualification or equivalent would be advantageous
- 1 to 3 years experience in a manufacturing production or maintenance environment would be advantageous
- Basic welding and steel fabrication experience
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and machinery
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics would be advantageous
- Basic electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience would be advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Valid drivers licence would be advantageous
- Valid forklift licence would be advantageous
Required Skills:
