Job Summary

Role Overview

Our Client is seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Junior IT Installer to join their team in Bloemfontein Free State. This role involves hands-on installation maintenance and support of IT network infrastructure cabling and hardware within a dynamic operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cabling & Infrastructure: Install terminate and test CAT6 and fibre cabling.

  • Device Installation: Mount and connect hardware devices including IP cameras Wi-Fi access points network switches and network cabinets.

  • Cable Management: Pull route label and secure cables in compliance with industry standards and site requirements.

  • Patching & Terminations: Terminate cabling in patch panels network cabinets and equipment rooms.

  • Fault Finding: Diagnose and repair faults across cabling network devices and system configurations.

  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate recording and management of equipment and stock levels.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent (NQF Level 4).

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of working experience within an IT environment.

    • At least 2 years of hands-on exposure to IT hardware network infrastructure CCTV systems and fibre installations.

  • Licensing & Transport: Valid South African drivers license with own reliable transport.

  • Working Conditions:
    • Medically fit to work within a manufacturing/industrial environment.

    • Willingness and availability to work after hours supporting a 24/7 on-site operational environment.

Competencies & Technical Skills
  • Proven knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure installation configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in IT hardware installation and configuration.

  • Experience operating fibre splicing equipment and handling power tools safely.

  • Comfortable and certified/capable of working at heights.

  • High technical aptitude with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Commitment to continuous process improvement and staying updated on industry trends.
