This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys working with large datasets investigating discrepancies and ensuring the integrity of fund-related transactions and financial reporting.

You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records driving reconciliation processes analysing trends and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure financial excellence.

Our client is looking to employ a Junior Fund Accountant based in Edenvale

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform reconciliations between operational and financial systems ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
• Prepare month-end journals accruals provisions and fund-related accounting entries
• Analyse fund transactions identify trends and anomalies and provide actionable insights
• Calculate monthly profit and loss on terminated plans
• Maintain data integrity through ongoing validation and investigation of errors
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Actuarial Business Intelligence
• Policy Administration Creditors and Debtors teams
• Prepare management accounts JV calculations and ensure pay-outs are processed accurately

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting is a must!
• Minimum of 3-5 years relevant accounting experience.
• Experience working with large volumes of data in a high-performance environment
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong understanding of reconciliations journal processing and financial reporting
• Highly proficient with financial systems and able to learn new technologies quickly.
