Job Summary

We are looking for a Junior Financial Assistant to join our team


Are you a school-leaver with a head for numbers and a passion for finance Looking for your first step into the world of bookkeeping and accounting

GC Solar is looking for a Junior Financial Assistant to support our finance function handling the day-to-day bookkeeping reconciliations and administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

This is an entry-level role perfect for someone with accounting at school level who is ready to learn and grow in a hands-on real-world environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform basic bookkeeping tasks capturing invoices payments and receipts

  • Assist with reconciliations bank accounts supplier statements and credit cards

  • Process and track supplier invoices and client payments

  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team

  • Respond to client inquiries timeously and professionally

  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems

  • Assist with ad-hoc finance and admin tasks as needed



Requirements


  • Matric certificate with Accounting as a subject (essential)

  • A basic understanding of how bookkeeping works

  • Reliable transport to and from Midrand (essential)

  • Strong computer knowledge MS Word Excel and Outlook

  • Advanced Excel skills is an advantage

  • Accounting software knowledge (e.g. Pastel QuickBooks or Xero) is an advantage

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Deadline-driven and able to work under pressure

  • Professional communication skills dealing with clients via phone and email

  • A willingness to learn and grow in a finance environment

Advantageous (but not essential):

  • Previous admin or finance experience

  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Pastel QuickBooks or Xero)

  • Experience with reconciliations
