Job Summary

Durban North. An exciting opportunity exists for a Junior Fashion Designer / Patternmaker with a relevant Fashion qualification and a genuine passion for fashion design to join an established clothing manufacturing company. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic individual to gain valuable industry experience while designing generic ladieswear for leading South African chain stores.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the design and development of ladieswear ranges
Create commercially appealing designs aligned with current fashion trends
Research trends colours fabrics and styles
Assist with the development of samples and new ranges
Work closely with the merchandising and production teams to ensure designs meet customer requirements

Requirements:

Relevant Fashion Design qualification
Pattern making experience
A keen interest and passion for fashion design
Strong creative flair and attention to detail
Some fashion design experience would be advantageous
Good understanding of current ladieswear trends
Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
Valid drivers licence
