Our client a specialised leader in South African defence engineering that designs and manufactures advanced fire control and sighting systems for military and land-based weapon platforms is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Junior Electronic Engineers to join their growing engineering team involved in the design manufacture testing and evaluation of advanced military equipment and systems.
This role offers exceptional exposure to a wide variety of electro-mechanical and electro-optical systems with structured mentorship and hands-on experience designed to accelerate professional growth and technical expertise.

Under guidance and mentorship the successful candidate will be involved in:
- Designing electronic subsystems for electro-mechanical systems.
- Implementing designs including:
- PCB design
- PCB assembly and prototype development
- Embedded software development (where applicable)
- Testing evaluating modifying and re-testing equipment integrated with mechanical components.
- Measuring system performance to ensure compliance with client specifications.
- Assisting with project budgets and timelines.
- Providing hardware and software support within the factory and potentially at client sites.
- Supporting clients with technical queries and product-related matters.
- Liaising with suppliers and external stakeholders.
- Writing technical and test reports.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date build history documentation.
Comprehensive mentorship will be provided in the following areas:
- Project management and systems engineering.
- Electronic design for electro-optical equipment including:
- Cameras
- Thermal imagers
- Laser range finders
- Design and utilisation of test equipment for electro-optical and electro-mechanical military systems.
- Generation of technical documentation required for delivery and archiving of military hardware designs.
- Development of technical skills based on individual strengths interests and career aspirations.
Essential Skills Qualifications & Attributes

- Willingness to occasionally work additional hours to meet project deliverables.
