Job Summary

Red Ember is looking for an Accountant / Junior Accountant to join a professional accounting and tax practice based in Pretoria. The role will provide exposure to bookkeeping financial reporting tax compliance and SARS-related matters supporting a portfolio of individual and business clients.

Requirements
  • Full capturing and processing of cashbook information from bank statements through to the preparation of Financial Statements.
  • Performing bank reconciliations and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Assisting with the preparation and compilation of financial statements.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Preparing and submitting Personal Income Tax returns.
  • Handling correspondence and communication with SARS on behalf of clients.
  • Assisting with SARS queries appointments and general tax administration.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Ensuring accounting and tax information is processed accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Working closely with senior accounting staff and clients to resolve accounting and tax-related queries.
  • Developing practical accounting and tax knowledge through on-the-job training.

Requirements
  • BCom degree in Accounting/Finance is required or candidates currently studying towards a BCom degree will be considered.
  • For junior candidates Accounting as a Grade 12 subject is required.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication skills particularly when dealing with clients and SARS.
  • Ability to work independently while also being willing to learn and receive guidance.


Required Skills:
