Irrigation Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced hands-on Irrigation Supervisor to lead our irrigation team and ensure that every system we install and maintain runs efficiently and reliably. ROLE OVERVIEW

The role involves overseeing the installation maintenance and repair of irrigation systems across client sites manageing a small team and serving as the go-to person for irrigation quality scheduling and water efficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

• Plan supervise and take part in the installation of drip sprinkler and automated irrigation systems according to design specifications
• Diagnose and repair faults in pipework valves controllers solenoids pumps and wiring
• Programme and adjust irrigation controllers to suit plant needs seasonal changes and local water restrictions
• Schedule daily work allocate tasks and supervise the irrigation team on site
• Conduct routine system audits and inspections and report on water usage and system condition
• Manage tools equipment and irrigation stock including requisitions and stock control
• Liaise with clients site managers and the landscaping team to resolve issues and coordinate work
• Keep accurate job cards timesheets and maintenance records
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and company procedures on all sites

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
• SABI-accredited irrigation qualification or similar
• 35 years practical irrigation experience including 12 years in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of irrigation components hydraulics and controller programming
• Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and layouts
• Basic electrical knowledge of low-voltage irrigation wiring
• Experience with smart or weather-based irrigation controllers
• Knowledge of borehole pump and water storage systems
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
• Fluent in English; Afrikaans and/or isiXhosa advantageous
• Valid RSA Code EB drivers licence (no endorsements)
• South African citizen permanent resident or holder of a valid work visa
• Reliable with contactable references

ADVANTAGEOUS

• IrriCAD or similar irrigation design software
• AutoCAD
• MS Project

REMUNERATION

• Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
