Job Description

A leading organisation within the chemical manufacturing sector is seeking a highly capable Inventory Manager to take ownership of inventory operations across multiple stores including maintenance spares packaging materials and PPE. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated team optimise inventory performance and play a strategic role in ensuring operational efficiency compliance and cost control.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of maintenance stores packaging material stores and PPE inventory.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through effective stock control processes stock takes variance investigations and reporting.
  • Manage stock planning forecasting reorder levels and inventory optimisation to minimise shortages and excess stock.
  • Lead mentor and develop supervisors store personnel and quality control staff.
  • Drive compliance with ISO standards OHSACT SHERQ requirements and all relevant safety regulations.
  • Monitor departmental budgets expenses and inventory-related financial controls.
  • Manage ERP data integrity within Microsoft D365 and continuously improve inventory processes and workflows.
  • Produce detailed management reports on stock performance slow-moving items risks opportunities and operational KPIs.
  • Collaborate with procurement production and quality teams to align inventory strategies with business objectives.
  • Champion continuous improvement sustainability initiatives and best-practice inventory management processes.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • 510 years inventory or warehouse management experience within the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Strong experience in inventory planning forecasting stock control and data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards OHSACT and SHERQ requirements.
  • Experience using ERP systems preferably Microsoft D365.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication problem-solving planning and decision-making skills.
  • Hands-on management style with a strong focus on accountability customer service and continuous improvement.
