Job Description:
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Manage the return of stock from customer sites ensuring that discrepancies are investigated resolved or confirmed to be within acceptable thresholds
- Ensure all stock return transactions are processed accurately and timeously in the relevant systems
- Own and coordinate the end-to-end returns process across departments working with stakeholders to ensure all related tickets and queries are investigated and closed within agreed timelines
- Report on returns variances at job and contractor level identifying trends exceptions and areas requiring management attention
- Manage contractor boot stock by obtaining monthly stock confirmations reconciling physical stock to system records investigating variances and processing appropriate adjustments in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules reconciliations and supporting documentation
- Develop implement and maintain policies systems and procedures for the control reconciliation and reporting of returned and contractor-held stock
- Prepare reports and analyses to monitor returns performance stock accuracy and the timely resolution of variances including conducting root cause analysis of exceptions
- Monitor stock controls and inventory accuracy to ensure compliance with internal policies and financial reporting requirements
- Collaborate with operational finance and logistics teams to improve returns processes and enhance inventory management practices
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a inventory cost accountant
Qualification:
- Matric and degree non-negotiable
- CIMA Beneficial
- Articles complete Beneficial
