Job Summary

A leading multinational organisation operating across Africa is seeking an experienced Internal Communications Leadto develop and execute its internal communications strategy.
The successful candidate will ensure employees across multiple markets are informed engaged and aligned with the organisations purpose culture and business priorities. The role will lead the planning creation delivery and evaluation of internal communications while advising the business on employee engagement culture communication leadership visibility and change management.
The position also provides direction and oversight to the internal communications team to ensure content is delivered consistently professionally and in line with organisational objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the internal communications strategy and annual communications calendar.
  • Translate business priorities into clear compelling and consistent internal messaging.
  • Lead employee engagement culture and organisational change communication campaigns.
  • Create and approve leadership communications presentations key messages and organisational announcements.
  • Manage and optimise internal communication channels and platforms.
  • Maintain consistent tone messaging editorial standards and communication governance.
  • Develop and manage a four-to-six-week forward content pipeline.
  • Produce channel performance scorecards and measure communication effectiveness.
  • Provide communication insights recommendations and strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across functions and markets.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Corporate Affairs on purpose-led and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Manage relevant communication agencies service providers and allocated budgets.
  • Lead coach and develop the internal communications team.
  • Oversee content quality and approve final communication outputs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Communications Marketing or a related field.
  • Honours degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
Experience
  • At least 10 years experience in corporate or internal communications.
  • At least five years team management experience.
  • At least five years agency management experience.
  • Experience within FMCG retail or quick-service restaurant environments would be advantageous.
  • Brand marketing and communications experience within a professional services firm or other complex organisation would be advantageous.
