Intermediate Civil Structural Engineer

Our client is seeking a capable Civil & Structural Engineer to join a technically driven EPCM environment. This role offers the opportunity to work across mining and heavy industrial projects from early-stage design through construction and commissioning with regular exposure to site-based engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to civil and structural engineering scopes across EPCM projects.
• Prepare and review structural calculations specifications drawings design basis reports and material take-offs.
• Design and analyse steel concrete and composite structures including platforms support steelwork foundations and equipment structures.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables with mechanical EC&I civil and process disciplines.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
• Review contractor and fabricator documentation and provide technical oversight on site.
• Participate in design reviews HAZOPs and risk assessments.
• Assist with proposals technical scopes of work and man-hour estimates.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable SANS standards and statutory requirements including the OHS Act and MHSA.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc (Eng) in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 510 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Proven mining or heavy industrial project experience.
• ECSA registration or active progress toward professional registration.
• Proficiency in Prokon or similar structural analysis software.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Autodesk Advance Steel experience will be advantageous.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Willingness to work fully on site when project requirements dictate.
