ICT Building Services Engineer (ElectricalElectronic) Consulting Industry

RPO Recruitments client a well-established engineering consulting firm in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is seeking an experienced ICT Building Services Engineer to join its growing team.

Reporting directly to the Head of ICT Services this role is best suited to a candidate with ICT building services design experience preferably gained within a consulting engineering environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced ICT team contributing to the design and delivery of innovative building services solutions across a diverse range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare design reports and preliminary cost estimates.
• Design and specify ICT building services including:
  • Fire Detection and Voice Evacuation
  • Structured Cabling and Data Networks
  • Audio Visual and Background Music
  • PABX and Communication Systems
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS)
  • CCTV and Security Systems
  • IPTV
  • High Voltage Fencing
  • Smart Building (IoT) Solutions
• Produce coordinated drawings using AutoCAD (Revit/BIM advantageous).
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Attend site meetings conduct inspections and assist with testing and commissioning.
• Prepare specifications tender documentation BOQs and tender evaluation reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and client requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years consulting engineering experience in building services.
• Experience on hospitality healthcare commercial retail and mixed-use developments.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (Revit/BIM advantageous).
• Strong technical reporting communication and problem-solving skills.
• ECSA registration (or eligibility) will be advantageous.
• Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
