HR Officer

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced HR Officer to join a fast-paced operational environment based in Epping Cape Town.
We are looking for a hands-on practical and no-nonsense HR professional who is comfortable working in a factory/plant environment and understands the demands of a high-volume operational workforce.
This role requires someone who can confidently partner with management and employees manage employee relations matters and provide practical HR guidance while ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation.

5 years HR experience
FMCG experience is essential
Previous factory / plant / manufacturing environment experience
Strong employee & labour relations experience
Confident handling disciplinary and grievance matters
Experience with recruitment onboarding and performance management
Comfortable dealing with payroll inputs leave timesheets and HR reporting
Strong knowledge of SA labour legislation
Unionised environment experience would be advantageous
Resilient independent and able to make sound decisions under pressure

The ideal candidate will be an experienced FMCG HR professional who understands the realities of operational HR.
You should be comfortable spending time on the plant floor engaging with employees and supervisors dealing with challenging employee relations matters and advising management when difficult decisions need to be made.
If you are looking for a purely administrative HR position this is not the role for you.
