Job Summary

At the NSW Department of Education we educate and inspire lifelong learners from early childhood through schooling to vocational education and training.

  • Temporary Full-Time opportunity until 30 June 2027
  • Located in Newcastle offering flexible working arrangements with mandatory 5 day fortnight office presence for business requirements and training.
  • Salary ranges from $75728 to $82329 p.a. superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

As the HR Customer Service Support Officer you deliver a range of transactional and routine HR services and customer support to staff across the Department relating to payroll and leave matters. Your responsibilities include:

  • Responding to general enquiries in a clear accurate and timely manner
  • Identifying and escalating complex issues or request to senior staff as required
  • Supporting accurate data management record -keeping and reporting
  • Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliant with department policies and procedures

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

As a condition of employment successful candidates not currently employed by the Department must provide a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance number. Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires as long as you remain in a nonchild-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
