Our client is looking for an experienced HR Business Partnerto support a manufacturing site in Brakpan. This role is suited to a hands-on HR professional with strong experience in unionised manufacturing environments employee relations labour law compliance operational HR partnering benefits administration talent development and HR reporting. The successful candidate will partner closely with operations and site leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives support a strong people agenda and contribute to a high-performance culture within a structured manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with operational leadership to align HR strategies with business goals.
  • Oversee and optimise company benefits administration ensuring compliance employee support and alignment with broader HR and reward strategies.
  • Support site integration and ensure compliance with Section 197 of the Labour Relations Act including employee transfers contractual obligations and operational continuity.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives to support a high-performance culture.
  • Support talent pipeline development succession planning and career development initiatives.
  • Implement and oversee the people pillar of WCM / Lean Sigma / Manufacturing Excellence across the site.
  • Lead and manage union engagement employee relations matters and disciplinary processes.
  • Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation and internal HR policies.
  • Develop meaningful HR metrics insights and reports to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • Bachelors degree is required preferably a BCom in a relevant field.
  • Human Resource Management qualification will be highly advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years HR business partnering experience within a unionised manufacturing environment.
  • Strong employee relations industrial relations disciplinary and union engagement experience.
  • Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as WCM Lean Six Sigma Lean Sigma or Manufacturing Excellence.
  • Strong digital proficiency including Microsoft Office SharePoint and other relevant digital tools.
  • Experience with HR metrics reporting talent management succession planning employee engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Practical understanding of manufacturing operations.
