HOTEL DUTY MANAGER STELLENBOSCH

We are seeking an experienced Hotel Duty Manager to oversee daily operations coordinate hotel departments and ensure an exceptional guest experience at a luxury hotel in Stellenbosch.

Hotel experience is essential. Only South African citizens will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee hotel operations during assigned shifts ensuring smooth coordination between Rooms Division Food & Beverage and other departments.

• Support departmental managers and provide visible hands-on leadership.

• Monitor arrivals departures VIP guests restaurant reservations events and service capacity.

• Engage with guests address requests and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.

• Guide mentor and motivate staff while maintaining service standards and procedures.

• Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify maintenance operational and guest service concerns.

• Make sound operational decisions and escalate serious guest staff financial or safety matters.

• Maintain accurate shift handovers incident reports and records of guest service recovery.

• Identify operational improvements support cost control and minimise wastage.

• Ensure compliance with health safety hygiene security and emergency procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• At least4 years experience in a Duty Manager or supervisory position within a luxury 5-star hotel or comparable hotel environment.

• Experience across Front Office Housekeeping Food & Beverage Guest Relations and complaint resolution.

• Strong understanding of Rooms Division and Food & Beverage operations.

• Experience usingOpera HubSpot and Dineplan.

• Proven leadership organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to train and motivate a team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a warm professional and guest-focused approach.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure use sound judgement and handle sensitive matters discreetly.

• Proactive resourceful and accountable with a commitment to sustainability and high service standards.

• Own reliable transport.

• Willingness to work shifts weekends and public holidays.

• South African citizenship valid South African identification and a clear criminal record.
